| It is a universal input method to type Han characters 漢字 using radicals 部首 indexing system for CJK/CJKV or Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. It is probably the easiest one-for-all-regions input method available and was originally created for easy dictionary searching on unfamiliar Han characters. A radical, sorted by number of strokes in increasing order, usually is simply the largest, the left, or the top portion of the character. With a few practices, one can already demonstrate proficiency in inputting Han characters without prior knowledge in any of the related languages. | Radical indexes have been used to classify Han characters since 100CE in Shuowen Jiezi 說文解字 Small Seal Script 小篆 to today international Unicode standard for Xinhua Simplified 新华简体/Kanji/Gan 贛語/Hanja 한자/Kangxi Traditional 康熙繁體/Hán tự字儒/Hong Kong Supplementary 香港增補/and many others. Radicals input method requires so many keys that cannot be mapped directly on standard keyboards, but it is extremely efficient in graphical users interface environment. By using visual pointing or touching devices, only two finger movements are needed to enter any single Han character. |

| Q3 | Why are there some non-character square blocks? |
| Those are usually less frequent used characters which are missing from your current system UTF8 font set. Modern Han characters set is continually adding characters from different regions of the world. You may try to update to the latest UTF8 font set or just simply ignore them. |
